My name is Katya! I’m a passionate San Diego photographer specializing in family, couples, and wedding photography. My path began in journalism: I earned an M.A. in Journalism from Moscow State University, Russia, and worked as a journalist for a while.

After moving to the U.S. in 2022, I shifted my career from language to a more universal form of communication—photography! My journalism background taught me a lot about documentary photography, and I still apply those principles in my work today. For me, photography is a wonderful way to stop time and preserve unique moments.

I truly love people! I find them the most fascinating subject in the world—every person is like a whole new universe. As an introvert, photography gives me the chance to connect with people I might never have met otherwise.
